Is there a way to remove saving to the hard drive permission? Have a public computer that we would not like guests to be able to save things to unless they have their own thumb drive to save stuff to, so on Windows XP Pro is there a way to have a certain account to not be able to save anything to the hard drive?

As Windows creates so many files itself- temporary etc; I cannot offer any way of actually stopping it saving files - perhaps someone else may have tried it.
I assume you created a guest , or, limited account for them to use ? -this helps with virus problems, as they do not have administrator rights.
Otherwise, it seems a bit drastic, but perhaps creating a restore point before a guest uses it, and then restoring to that point as soon as they finish, would eliminate any saved files that they created.
Hang on a while , though, there are some creative, and very technical minds at majorgeeks , and someone might just come on with something better.
