No scheduled scan in AVG file

My Xrolleyes has an XP program on his computer. I have a vista. We both have AVG anti-virus home free edition 8.0 I can open my avg page, double click on computer scanner and it takes me to a set up page to schedule a scan every day of the week and the time. I double click on scheduled scan and I can finish setting up the day, time etc. On the Xrolleyes computer which is the XP, he has no (scheduled scan - disabled ) to double click on - on his set up page for auto scheduled scanning. This does not make any sense to me. He just wants his computer to scan itself everyday and there doesn't seem to be a place on the AVG program when it is installed on XP that he can set this up. He does have Update scheduled automatically but can't set up the whole computer. He even uninstalled the AVG and re-installed it again. Same problem. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.:wave
