hi all, just after some help with my daughters pc, its a phillips freevents ls1600, on board vga and dvi outputs, she went to use it the other day and there is no signal on the monitor, i tried it with another monitor and on the the lcd with a dvi to hdmi lead, but still nothing, ive tried using different combinations of ram to see if a dodgy stick is the cause, also tried to unplug unnecessary hardware to test if its a power problem and still nothing, any help would be appreciated, cheers

    Greetings, bainofmylife.

We need to know your operating system and service pack # - in fact, any additional info about the machine you can provide may prove helpful.

Does anything happen at all when you power up: lights, sounds, beeps?

I'm assuming you've also tried the VGA output?

Can you access your BIOS? I'm not familiar with your machine, but setup can usually be accessed by pressing F1, F2, F11, F12, Del, or Ctrl before Windows starts. If you can get into BIOS, make sure onboard graphics is enabled.

@ bainofmylife: the next step might be trying a dedicated graphics card, one that the machine will handle port- and power-wise.
