This morning I downloaded a movie to watch and decided to try connect it with the TV in the living room . So I copy the movie to a USB Memory Stick( I have no idea how you call them on english I am sorry for not being correct ) and I take the monitor cable(it's the one with like needles not a HDMI) and use it to connect my sisters laptop to the TV . Everything worked great and after the movie I take everything back but I only get "No Signal" from my monitor . My PC works though I heard someone calling me on skype and started a game . I succeded at connecting my sisters laptop to my monitor and it worked perfectly.I tried both ports that I my PC has on it's back side with the same effect. I am sorry for any mistakes in my grammar and not knowing any tech names on english . Any help is welcome . Thanks for your time .

Sorry for not mentioning what os I run . I have Windows 7 (Ultimate) . Yea 1st thing I did is restart everything and check the cables. I am still wondering could my graphic card just die like that? Or something else is wrong .

It would help to know what make and model of PC you have: HP, Dell, etc., and any upgrades you may have done to it . . . such as does it have an add on video card, or does it get video from the motherboard (on-board video).

Same if it is a custom build . . . need to know the motherboard model, etc.

Nikola, here's a relatively easy way to collect all of the information required to properly assess your problem.

OK, first I need you to download a program called Speccy from the following page:

    http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html

    1. Install the program and don't change any of the settings. Just leave them at their default settings
    2. Run the program and let it analyze your system (takes less than 30 seconds). When it finishes click FILE >>Save As Text
    3. Save the text file to your desktop.
    4. Go to your desktop and open the text file with notepad (just double click on it). Edit out any personal information including serial numbers, then save it.
    5. If you know how to archive files using the ZIP or RAR format then go ahead and archive the text file. If not, then don't worry about it, just leave the text file as it is.

Then go to http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880 to learn how to attach a file to your post.

Post another message in this thread with the aforementioned text file attached.

That will give people here something to work with in diagnosing your problem.

This will be difficult for him due to his lack of a working display.

Nicola, did you disconnect your monitor without turning off your computer?

Does it remain dark when you first turn on the computer?

You say you have two monitor connections. Can you open your computer case and remove the graphics card then connect the monitor to the other monitor plug and turn the computer back on?
