No sound after format..

Hello all , I reinstalled xp with sp2 but I don't have the driver cds anymore. I already installed the nvidia drivers but I can't find the right sound driver for my soundcard/motherboard. Can anyone help? Here are my specs :

Heres a start, since you didnt post your model, insert model at compaq and it will bring up your drivers.

What do you mean by model? My mother board is a VIA VT8377 Apollo KT600 and my soundcard is a VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio controller. These are the things I need drivers for.

Or do you need something else?

When I try and install this one i get an error saying ' installation wizard cannot find supporting hardware on your system ' .

Thanks for including the Everest report in your 1st post. It helps to get things moving... first, download and install your chipset drivers. You can download them from this direct link. Reboot the PC, then install the audio drivers. You can download them from this direct link. Both downloads are zipped so you'll need to use an 'unzipper' type of software, or use the XP built-in unzipping software. You can then run the 'setup.exe' file(s) after the downloads have been extracted.

If these drivers don't work, you'll need to upload the full and complete Everest report. The one uploaded earlier has obviously been cut down to a MUCH smaller file.
