No sound and No access to USB ports

My computer was recently in safe mode so my sound and Usb Port were deactivated ? right... Anyways i now im out of safemode but i still have no sound and computer does'nt read usb cords...

My lAptop is a Toshiba Satellite L505.
Any more info needed let me know

I have tried un-installing my audio driver and re-installing it that does'nt work , tried updating it , it says it is at its latest version.
Tried downloading a new one does'nt work...

Help would be appreciated for either or both problems

Try reinstalling your chipset drivers. If you have an OEM driver disk the software should be included, or if you visit the Toshiba support site you should be able to plug in your model's specifics (click the "Download" link) and find the correct package.

Make sure you reboot the machine after installing any software and see if there is a change in symptoms.

 

Ok i will try what u said ... I do'nt know alot about these stuff , so sorry if ask alot of questions .. How do i find the driver u mentioned? In the driver manager? and do'nt think i have the oem.

 

I am on the toshiba site , what do i need to download?

you have to select Operating System and driver type , save the e.x.e file to your computer C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\Downloads then you have to navigate to the folder in which e.x.e file is existed running it :wave

 

Okay but i have tried downloading the driver for sound before and after i restart and come back it never turns green instead it fails.

Well it tells me i have to restart my computer after i did the steps after it download.. aFter i restart thats when i think it actually downloads:confused
But it always fails.

I just downloaded what I think is the correct driver for your Toshiba:

It downloads as what appears to be an .exe but is actually a WinZIP self-installing ZIP file. Before attempting to install after downloading, right-click on the file, select "Properties" and click on the "Unblock" button at the bottom of the property sheet if it is there. Then install the file and reboot to see if there is a change in symptoms.
