No Sound C00D11BA error

Hi

Im getting the following error code when I try to open my sound mixer

Im using IOBIT Advanced System Care Pro V4 (Paid Version) & IOBit Security 360 (paid version)

I tried doing the F8 at reboot and selected Last Known Good Working Configuration (i think thats how its worded) which didnt work

Im on XP SP3, 3gig of Ram 160gig harddrive with just over 100gig free space

I use a program called Ableton for my music production and I get sound from that, but no sound from VLC Player and Windows Media Player wont even load music or films, I get the following error (see screenshot)

 

Follow this : insert xp cd go Start - run - type cmd write sfc /scannow and check the system files !! :cool

 

I dont have the XP cd

A friend borrowed it and now he says he cant find it
