No Sound card found ....

and no sound driver .... thats what my computer keeps telling me ...

I had a virus recently and after I got rid of it, I realised my sound is missing.
How do I find download and install a new sound card ?
I have an Aspire SA80 pc.

I don't know much about the set up of these things and have been searching the internet to try and find out if I can fix it myself.

Can anyone offer any advice please ?

Click "Desktop" for Product Line.
Click "Aspire SA80" for Product.
And download "Aspire SA80/Power S280 Audio Driver"
That is a .zip file, so you will have to extract it and then double-click the setup.exe file to begin your install.

Did you get your sound back?

 

no I didn't .. I did something wrong and my computer crashed for while .. I eventually got it up and running again ..
so now I think its best if I take it to be fixed by someone other than me ..

If you're having problems, sort them out one at a time.
Maybe start a fresh thread in the proper forum (Software?) and explain all the things that are happening and the people here can help you work through it, with steps easy enough for a beginner to follow.
It'll save you a lot of money and you'll feel much more computer worthy when you are done.

A good rule of thumb: If the sound just quits and you have not reformatted and reloaded the OS, go to Control Panel, System Manager and remove the sound card. Win has the driver stashed away and most of the time will reinstall it. It usually works again. This is true of all devices listed in Sys Mgr.
