No sound card?

    I just reinstalled winxp because of problems and now it is telling me that I have no sound card,,???

    In particular, what hardware do you have (motherboard, soundcard or onboard sound system), did you install any required motherboard chipset drivers after installing Windows, did you install drivers/software for the sound system? Are there any errors showing in Device Manager?
    What exactly is reporting no soundcard, and exactly what is the message?
