I reinstalled WinXP Pro trying to install my lost audio devices. No such luck! Where can I find these missing audio devices? On board audio. Mother board CD doesn't seem to have them. I have not been able to find them on the Microsoft web site.

Onboard audio should be on the CD, or available from the manufacturer of the card or board. I need to know what board or sound card and can do some digging if you need it.

Also as you have re-installed XP ..... installing your chipset drivers is also advisable.

some more info is needed tho as to what hardware you have... Intel or AMD + what motherboard you have... so that correct chipset and device drivers can be found.

I'm running a P4 1.7GHz on an Asus P4S533, which has an on board sound device. There is no multimedia listing in the device mgr. if this helps.
