I installed the K-Lite Codec pack, reboot, nothing

Updated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series driver, reboot, nada

updated Marvell Yukon Ethernet Driver, not relevant really just thought I would pass that along

    Reinstalled flashplayer

Check volume controls in control panel/sounds and audio devices/speaker volume, check speaker volume on both left and right speakers is up,open device volume/advance to see they are all up and not muted with a flash video playing check the volume is turned up at the bottom right of the video.

In IE go to tools, internet options, advance and make sure enable sounds in web pages is ticked.

I checked everything and went to IE and checked and everything was ok, but still no sound.

    Anything else I can try.

I don't use IE, so I can't offer help on that.
In FF, open your preferences and click on the contents tab. At the bottom you will see File Types. Click on the Manage button. See if anything is configured for audio files. You should see the extension then after it action, opens with.

If FF means FireFox, I tried to find file types but couldnt see them in the options section anywhere. Was I in the right place?

Also I thought maybe if I simply restored the computer to a time before this problem that might work. However I tried twice and it would not restore. I tried two different days.

    What next?

You said the problem didn't start till you upgraded your sound driver? I would suggest that you uninstall the Realtek sound driver and install the factory set driver that came with your computer or do a Rollback to the previous one.

. Yes, you were looking at the proper place. Interestingly enough, I was on 2K and that has it. I'm now in XP Home and that doesn't have it - weird. I assumed FF was the same in every windows version.
