No Sound... No Volume Control

Hi,
I reinstalled Windows XP. But now there's no sound. My Device Manager shows only 5 (not 6) items under the AUDIO (The codec and legacy). There is a ? mark next to Audio Device Controller. The computer cannot seem to install automatically. Also, there is no Volume Control available either. It simply says 'no mixer / devie available'. The sound was working prior to the reinstall. Can you help?

C-Media CMI8738 Audio Chip is also stated under PCI/PNP AUDIO. I downloaded it from the site and when I try and install it, it just says Please Connect PCI Audio Device.

Your drivers can be found at this link. Install the 'System Drivers' first, restart the PC, then install the 'Audio Drivers'. Once the drivers are installed properly, the volume control will appear and will be functional. If these drivers don't work, please attach an Everest report to a future post....

You might want to save the drivers to a CD (or at least save the link I provided) so you'll have them the next time they're needed....
