Had sound on my computer before installing new RAM. Once the new RAM was installed I had NO SOUND. Went through all the steps in "run" and checked the BIOS. There were no problems detected and nothing was coming up error. Went today and bought a new sound card (Diamond Extreme Sound 5.1) and after much playing around (and MUCH restarting of computer) I have sound, but there is a TON of static. What can I do to remove the static and get the sound back to where it was before the RAM install??:cry

Thanks for any help you all can offer!

Ooops... Also, not sure what to do with the onboard sound that the computer came with. It originally had onboard sound that went to hell when I installed the new RAM. Now I am not sure, with the new soundcard, if the AZALIA should be listed as "disabled" or "auto". As of this moment, I have it set to "disabled" and either way, I still have the static. Again, any help to keep me from pulling my hair out would be greatly appreciated. :)
