No sound using Internet

The sound when i try to listen to You Tube or play games has disappeared
I have just d/l SP3 for WinXP an hour ago, and since restart i have noticed this problem.
The sound works great for the Computer itself, with sound for solitaire and program close etc.
Is this a driver problem?

OK, now that I got that out of the way, let's get serious.
Right-click your Volume icon in the Taskbar, make sure that nothing is muted.
Make sure that your Adobe Flash player is installed and updated.
If that doesn't do it.
Goto Start>Run and type, sndvol32 and click OK.

And last if you're still having problems check Device Manager (Sound, Video, and Game Controllers) for problems. I may need an Everest report, if there are. (or at least your full manufacturer and model ID's)

Volume icon is not in the Task bar.

Will have a try at suggestions and report back

Goto your Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure the box "Place volume icon in the taskbar" is checked.

 

It is checked Now what I have done is rebooted and it is working again :celebrate

What did you do that fixed your sound? Was the Volume box, unchecked.
Or was it a combination of all the things?
