No sound with music match ?

Hi All very flustrating with music match no sound on it at all
& record button is darkened.When I put in a cd nothing happens I get a
messege box telling me tha it music match is recording / error 3
but no down loading of track info or sound ? checked audio and checked
properties,
but I'm not sure on the settings ?? also when I close the top button it brings
in a message bod asking to update from 4.0 for $ 29.95 help some one
please ?? also I have Just insatalled Norton System Works on my computer
would this have any thing to do with it?
