No sound!!

I updated some drivers for my Creative SB live sound card today, and now I have no sound at all

I have done all the usual like checking volume levels, making sure mutes aren't on, sound turned up on speakers etc etc, but still silence.

My device manager says that all is working ok, and i have tried to roll back the driver but it wasn't having any of it either.

In frustration I have just forked out for an Audigy card but I would like sound to return before it arrives because my gaming experience isn't quite the same when you can't hear people shooting at you!

Any ideas?

 

first off you should have bought creative's x-fi range. but doesnt matter. ok ca you tell me whats the model of your motherboard? have to say creative cards have been giving lots of problems lately...

 

Don't know!! It's an Asus and the BIOS number is ASUS - 42302e31 11/15/02

 

ok so its a old motherboard. have tried updating the BIOS?

 

Pranks its dont think its worth the risk to update the bios right away,its a driver problem and as you probably know a failed bios update can leave a computer useless

looks as though you have installed the wrong or incompatible driver,simply go to add\remove programs remove the old creative driver and restart

Do you have a link to the driver you installed ,creative will now do an online check and automatically install the correct driver if your unsure you have the right driver
