No Sound

Have an hp compaq i865 Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.80GHz on Windows XP 32bit, serial number BFEBFBFF00000F29
Motherboard Lite-On Tech model 08FCh serial number 1111TEST1111.

there is no sound, have tried some of the suggestions but no success( last time it ended with your system does not support sigmatel, on AC97 it is always a mulfunction occured during setup.)
pleaze help.

Hi

Could you tell us the actual model version or number of your Compaq PC (could be like R4065, which is one of mine) as well as what Service Pack version your Windows is?

Did you just loose sound, or did you have to reinstall Windows and now have no sound?

If you dont know either of these then run the below as written and that will give us the info needed to help you.

Download and install Everest to find this info, at times a summary log of your PC can help, to do this

Install Everest and run
Click Report (top menu) > Report Wizard > Next
Choose System Summary Only > Next
Choose Plain Text > Finish and wait for report to generate
Click Save to File and leave the File Name as Report, then click the Save as Type dropdown and choose Report files (*txt) and click Save (n.b. Save to desktop is best as easy place to find it, use Browse to locate desktop)

Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

Hi
there are 2 numbers on top of the tower case, on the left is AG10 & on the right Hewlett-Packard ZAB 411004T.
service pack version is Windows XP service pack 2 & will attach the computer report.

Thats a bit of a blow as the Everest report doesnt list your HP/Compaq model, the codes you posted dont rreval much either, try this http://welcome.hp.com/country/uk/en/support/prod_info.html

AS once we have your model we can suggest the drivers, with you having SP2 for XP you will need to install the UAA driver HERE then the audio once we find your model PC
