No sound

I have a compaq SR2050NX media center that I recently had a mother board go out on it. I purchased an OEM mother board exact replacement (new) for it. I installed the mother board with no headaches except I hve worked for 5 hours and still can NOT get sound to come from rear panel jacks. I have spent countless hours reading google and hps website to make sure it has the right drivers. To my knowledge it does and still NO sound.

Under device manager under system devices the Microsoft UAA bus driver for High definition Audio is there
Under device manager under sound devices there is the Realtek High definition Audio driver there.

I need some help here to get sound out of the rear jacks again. There is sound out of the front jack only in the headphone jack NOTHING for the rear.

The OS is windows XP SP3 media center edition

 

Is there a setting in BIOS to enable onboard audio?

 

Yes I have already checked that.

 

If you have the Realtek Manager, play around with the setting for the analog jacks. Make sure digital sound is not enabled.

none of this help worked................I did notice when I click the speaker icon in the task bar all of the outlets for the back are greyed out

 

Is the Windows audio service in Services started?
