No sound....

I have a Creative Plus 6.1 sound card....sometimes when I boot I have sound and sometimes I don't.

I've taken the card out and cleaned it to make sure of good connections and such.

The ODD part is that I will boot and have sound and then it just decides to stop having sound. I'm not changing settings or doing recording or changing any settings.

I've NEVER had this problem before. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe the card is taking a Dump?
Uninstall & reinstall drivers.
I wounder if sound card can have heat issues? Hum!
Flaky slot? try another!

 

I switched slots a couple days ago and no problems since.
