no sound!!!

    hello. i just re-installed win xp home ed. i have a 1.3 ghz amd duron processing unit. i have no sound and when i check my sound in the start menu it says "there were no mixer devices available."
    can anyone help?

    Do you have the sound drivers installed for your onboard sound or sound card?

    Check device manager.

    Click START, then RUN, then type in: devmgmt.msc (press enter). Do you have any unknown devices? Or any yellow (!)'s?

    yes here they are: multimedia audio controller.....and.....video controller(VGA compatable)

    Glad I could help. I or someone else may be able to give you direct links (or close ones) to the drivers you are looking for.

    Simply give us your sound card and video card types.
