No system image problem

My laptop has decided to stop working. i got to a point using a boot disk but now i need a system image which i dont have i also dont have a recovery point to restore the system to earlier point or a installation disc.

Can anyone tell me what my next step is thx

You may have a hidded recovery partition
When powering on tap the F10 key this should allow you access to the recovery menu

 

Nothing happens just goes to ctrl alt + del to restart. I can press F2 to enter setup or F12 to enter multi boot.

Could i make a backup dvd from my sisters laptop to use on mine when i'm asked for the system image?

 

Same brand different model. New laptop needed me thinks.

 

If you can reach a point where the machine will boot from a CD, and if you have the discrete capacity to burn image files to disk, then there are other options.

Two good starting points are the Ultimate Boot CD (contains many low-level tools for diagnostics and repair) and any good Linux distro, such as Mint, which you can run in a live environment and with which you should be able to access and salvage any data you might wish to save.

You might also supply us with your operating system and service pack #, model # of your machine, etc. - there may be other specific tools.
