    Got same problem!
    Gateway MX8716b with PhoenixBIOS 72.15
and vista keeps crashing and crashing and crashing... as well as Win7 freezes and freezes and cant use this piece of garbage...
Gatewy support is insulting afair- no BIOS or any other drivers as it is out of warranty
apart from advise to avoid Gateway, I'd love to find out on ways to sort @ least this problem...

    Hi

Is TPM message causing your PC not to boot? as with an older BIOS and PC you can ignore this message, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950330 BIOS update is the way to fix this in most cases, but sadly none on Gateways site so I can see.

Could try and reset the BIOS to default settings, then re-add any custom settings you may have made.

Do you have any external storage devices plugged in at boot time, like USB HDD, Pens etc if so remove them and reboot, does message still appear.

... well I got over load of issues for now...
It was an issue based on some integrated loader, that came with Vista install but wasn't going through
Long story, but I found different Loader cleaner, run it after another Vista dvd semi successful install and still got the message- but as you say- just ignore it!
    Thanks!
