no video = no sound??

    Just re-formatted XP -pro / generic p4.

    I have lost sound. The Device manager says RAID and VGA are missing (thaose dreaded yellow question mark symbols).

    Trouble is the CD with the VGA ain't co-operating. I 'click' re-install drivers but the pesky PC says it can't find the drivers on the CD.

    How can I re-install the VGA drivers?? En-forced silence is painful.

    You will need to tell us what brand and model your pc is, onboard video?. Or you can go to the brand name's web site and download the drivers you need.

    you should be able to install the VGA drivers from the mainboard disc. Reboot. Then install the drivers for you graphics card, and the world should be right.
