No voice audio when watching dvd's or playing games

    hi there
    i have recently installed windows 7 and have noticed that i get on voice audio when watching any dvd's but all other sound works perfectly. it also happens when i play games.

    please help if anyone can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

    The most likely culprit is you have your audio set to 5.1 but are only using a stereo speaker setup,go into control panel and go through "sounds" options make sure its set to stereo speakers or headphones,depending on your audio card and the software your using these options may or may not clear up the problem for example the creative software I use for my sound card override control panel options so right click the headphones/speaker icon and hit configure,make sure its set to stereo speakers and they both work.

    You then need to go into the software your using to decode your DVD's and make sure that's set to stereo then go into your sound card software and make sure that is set to stereo.

    thanks very much for the reply but when i open the config settings to change to stereo there are no audio channels to choose from. i have no clue what to do next.
