Good day. I realised today that I'm having some serious issues with my computer. I got a notification that windows updates are available, but I can't get them to install. I click on the icon, and nothing. I've tried 'update' in the search/run field from the start button, control panel and start menu.

Restore brings up an error message that it can't be accessed.

I'm using Telus security services and it has done a good job in the past of keeping me crap free but it wouldn't load after a reboot yesterday, which is where my real problems started. I reinstalled it, updated and ran a deep scan...which showed nothing wrong.

After that it occurred to me that I can't remember the last time I loaded a windows update. I've tried some MS repair tools from their site. They run, say they've solved my 'update' problem, yet still it doesn't work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

You're going to have to disable any AV (other than MSE) and firewall (other than Windows) in order to be able to download and install the updates. Antiviruses and firewalls often interfere with the process. Once the updates are installed, you can reactivate your AV and firewall.
