No Wireless Internet

i just got a lenovo ideapad s210 touch from a friend and when i turn it on i cant log into the internet,when i scan for avalible wireless links my cogeco routor will not show up,is there a key button to turn on the wireless?iv tryed a few things and no luck also i dont see a place to plug a wire into this so i cant hardwire it.it,s windows 8.1

When you scan do you see any other networks? If not then wireless could be switched off. On my Thinkpad it's F9 but may be different on your Ideapad. Also take a look at Network Adapters in Device Manager, is it working normally?

 

yes i do see 2 others only,when i see hidden network at times but only 2 bars of strength and when i put my password in i get failed.

 

Then your router wireless can't be working. Check its status lights.

 

it,s working watching firestick now.Does this ideapad need a wireless adapter that i put in usb slot?

 

got it working i had 5g set in routor it wont work on 5 g
