no wireless

i had to do a total reinstall of xp pro and have had horrible driver and software probs ever since have fixed most with yalls help but now my wireless isnt working still i cant get it to come on the little switch on the side is on i run the wireless wizard and nothing happens i still have no wireless connections show up i cant do a search for any networks around me ive moved recently to a hell hole that only has dial up service so i desparetly need some high speed wireless connectivity in hopes to ever play WOW again im useing a toshiba satellite windows xp pro service pack 3 any other info u may need just let me know and just to throw out there is there anything at all i can do to speed this dial up service up any im running at 24 kbps thank you all for any advice or help you can offer
