    Hi, rustyjack.

If you've tried all of the regular network-related fixes, you might go towards reloading chipset drivers - sometimes the mobo can cause symptoms that appear to be network.

    Hi Rusty

What make and model is the PC in question?
    What Windows version and SP?

Just check this for me, in the system tray is their more than one wifi manager? some PC makers install their own and disable Windows Wireless Service, which disables the Windows Wifi manager.

Also check in Networking properties to see what LAN and WAN connections are listed and what is enabled and disabled? could be more than one and that could conflict and disable them both.

I would be doing both the options of Caliban and DLS.

Hi Caliban i'm basically an end user when your talking mobo's forget it it's out of my hands !
I think i'm goner have to tell this girl to save all her photo's cause thats all she's bothered about, and then do a full system restore for her, i mean the amount of crap that was on it in the first place was unbeleivable !

From what I've read of your posts, you're a little more advanced than the 'end users' I'm used to. ;)

Do check out Halo's and DLS's suggestions - they look good. On the other hand, if there are other obvious or looming issues with the system, then I concur: wipe the slate clean and give her a new machine.

    EDIT: good point, DLS.

Fairly sure, i might be wrong though !
But i've been at this for 4 sodding days now and don't fancy starting all over !
    AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH !

I think its goner be a clean slate, i mean the silly girl she's 24yr old and lets her brother go on it all the time, he's 28ish and never off the Franky Vaughn sights, this is about the fourth or fifth time i had this LT in to clean out, and each time it's came back, she hasn't been using ccleaner or doing anything i've told her to, she's the type that thinks a car can run with no oil in it, if you know what i mean !

P.S Thanks for the heads up saying i'm a little more than an end user, i'm just a modest man that ain't been at this game for very long !

There's no WIFI manager in the system tray just the normal (2 comp signs with red X on) and when i right click on it, Open Network Connections theres just Local Area Connection and 1394 Connection Net Adapter in the properties !

Cheers for the suggestion Kestrel, but i'm not sure whether combofix or any of the more deeper analysis tools will clear out all her photo's and basically thats all she's bothered about, and it looks like Santa is bringing her a new Laptop so basically she's told me i can have this one when Santa has been, " BONUS " because then i'll do the full act on it and then i end up with a LT for nothing ! ;););)
P.S I know that sounds a bit harsh but my daughters said thats what she told her !!
