I have 2 hard drives in my PC cluttered up with a load of useless stuff, so i now want to to format both of them so i can use one for myself and let the Mrs use one for all her work. I also would like to buy a legit real copy of Windows 10 to install instead of my admittedly fake Win7 Ultimate that a mate of mine stuck on there when he built it for me.

    1. How do i format the HD safely so it is ready to install a brand new Windows 10 onto ?

    2. Where would i get a legit Windows 10 from for a decent price in the UK ?

    My PC specs are:

AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight Core Processor 4.01ghz
    8GB Ram
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
    64 Bit
both hard drives are 500's which is more than enough for myself and the wife

    3. Any other advice would be appreciated, if there's anything else you think i should know.

    Thanks in advance
    Ste

There are a few ways to go about this and if it were me, this is what i would do:

Download the 'w10 home' ISO file (English) from Microsoft product store for a 120 quid GBP. (wont need pro unless your corporate networking).
This way you can download the file straight away after payment, and have what you need that night to create any installation media you prefer.
With this file, i like creating bootable USB's cause their small and you cant scratch em, but if you'd rather make your own CD, thats an option too.

Create your media, Set your bios, boot to it, and then format your prefered drive from within the setup, preferably the Win7 drive.
Im just guessing that you've got data (pics, docs etc) on the storage drive that does not contain Win7 that you want to back up, so this way, you can be up and running on a fresh Win10, and take your time about getting the other storage drive ready.
Use an external usb drive to store everything you want to back up before you format either drive (including the .iso file you downloaded from MS).

Dont worry if you feel it sounds a bit tricky, this guy shows you how its done in a good YT tutorial.

    ;)

Or Play-SC instead of Microsoft. They have some decent prices on Steam titles as well.
