Northbridge Cooler and Arctic Silver

Ok I have a nice fat Tube of Arctic Silver 5 And I wanted to know if I could use that on the NB chip as Thermal Paste or what kinda Arctic Product would you suggest Cause I was thinking about Ceramique' for AS help mE! please Thanks

i dont see why you couldnt use it on your northbridge...unless im missing sumthin here id go for it

 

Arctic Silver is good compound. I'd just use what you have, no point ending up with 2 95% full tubes of thermal compound. I've also used AS5 on my Northbridge when I changed the basic fan for Zalman's passive blue aluminium block, no problems for me.

Just remember the golden rule. Less is more, you're not applying suncream.

 

Yep, done the AS5 on the north bridge many times. Works great.

Any type thermal paste will do fine however.

 

I'd suggest Ceramique because it's non conductive, Safer, Lasts longer, Cleans easier, burn in usually less than 20 hr

You can use AS5, but dont use too much or it can kill your MOBO in a heartbeat
AS5 takes near 200 hr to burn in

Some or lots Folks will use AS5 for CPU HS
Ceramique for N & S bridge and GPU

I dont even bother with AS5 anymore I'm exclusive with Ceramique
Ive tested both on atleast a doxen PC's, Ceramique Wins

 

Imma have to go wit ASUS, he knows and plus that has really been burning in my head lol I wanted to secretly use ceruramque --- typo yeah.. yeah.. yeah.. w/e lol
