HOT HOT HOT is all i can say...I can not touch it,it will burn the at least the 1st layer of skin...Now FanSpeed says my CPU is at 36C and my motherboard is at 50c @ idle..I thought maybe it was reading things backwards,BUT i went to touch the NB and WOW frickin hot cant leave your finger on it even for a second...Never had these probs till 1: Bought an OCS 550W Modstream PSU and then a BFG 7800GS Graphics card, ever since ive had high Motherboard temps, and i figured thats the temps of my northbridge..I could be wrong though..Needless to say my NB is on fire and im not sure if routing a waterblock to it will help,or if i should just get a heatsink with a fan for it...Any suggestions would be great thanks

it could be that the 7800 is heating up the entire case, maybe try using a pci slot cooler or upgrading your case fans. Also a heatsink/fan for the nb should be a major help.

thanks for a quick reply,my 7800GS is not putting off much heat,i have it water cooled and the temp of the GPU Core is 34c...its just this darn north bridge, its wicked hot. and its the only component that i do not have going through the water supply, sence ive ordered 2 NB water blocks and never revieved them...i dont like buying online but thats another subject..i may go with the cooler Master CM Blue ICE and see if it helps...

OK well i learned something intresting tonight!! I went ahead and replaced the heatsink on my NorthBridge,it now has a heatpipe setup with a fan,and im idleing at 32c on the NB now,and it brought my CPU Temps down also..Is this possible? I know everything in my PC goes through the north bridge. But by keeping it cool also brings down my over all temps??
Jusy FYI my 3GHZ Prescott OCed to 3.8Ghz use to idle at 40C now im down to 29C for the CPU...Please someone inlighten me to some new knowledge!! is this possible?

    50c is aprox 123 Fahrenheit

Maybe you got girly fingers:p "LOL"

Your sensors maybe off a bit
Your are OCing, tends to create more heat, as does upping voltage, Go figure!
Add some Cooling, either HS & Fan or? tie in your water cooling;)

You say your CPU is 50c at idle, Man thats Poor, hope you didn't spend much on your water kit. (What brand water Kit you got, so I know what to avoid:D or maybe this just a Pentium thing? "LOL" )

I'm running a 38% OC on Air, stock is 2000Mhz, OC at 2760MHZ Idle is 32c, Max 51c

Buying online is generally safe, buy from reputable retailers, use credit card if a problem arises your CC company will help

glad you fixed the problem. I have heard that waterc ooling can cause parts around the cpu to overheat because they rely on a good airflow to keep them cool if they don't have thier own fans.
