I upgraded to Norton 360 2.0. I used Norton's backup to external drive automated feature on the earlier version, and it did a good job of backing up documents, music, Quicken etc. On this upgrade, it now backs up the data on the external in folders and files that are, rather than logical folder and file names (e.g. folder My Documents with .doc's therein), it creates on the external drive folders and file names that are random letters and numbers without extensions. There is no way to navigate the external and access backed up data. Is this working as designed? The only way to test the success of the backup is to tell Norton to restore from backup which would rewrite over everything on my hard drive with the alleged backed up files. Don't want to do that. I like the way it was before where I can easily find the backed up single file or folder and restore it with copy / paste. Thanks for all input.
