My Father in Law runs his BTClick email through Outlook 2000, and has Norton AV and Firewall. When Outlook isnt open, his AV flags up a message saying it is scanning outgoing mail, but he doesnt know why. I cant seem to figure it out either. Any ideas as to what is happening and if this should be happening or not?

He is on BT openworld with a wireless router on a secure connection.

    Thanks

If my Father in Law doesnt want to disable his outbound scanning, is there any other reason why it scans when outlook isnt open?

Mark, Im sorry but I cant make sense of what your saying. He uses a webmail account but runs it through outlook. He gets a norton flag coming up when outlook is or isnt open scanning outgoing email even though nothing is being sent. :confusedrolleyes

It wont allow him to turn off outbound scanning as he has the corporate edition installed on his stand alone. he is using the Full version 10.0.1.1000 copyright 2005. Any idea on how to switch it off?
