My subscription ran out and I have the option of just renewing, upgrading to 2004 from 2003, or upgrading to Norton Internet Security 2004. I can actually get the Internet Security program fairly cheap because they're offering a rebate (I'm sure they'll make it up next year or something). In any case does anyone know if the extra stuff in 2004 (supposedly captures spyware and adware) or the Internet Security Program is worth it? Any inputs would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Avast, good AV. I used AVG for a while, also very good, and still cant make ma mind out about which one I prefer.

Agreed with the previous posters. In addition, it's not uncommon to have a virus that slipped past Norton on your system that Avast or AVG will find on their 1st scan after installing. To run an online AV check 2nd opinion, visit http://housecall.trendmicro.com

well here is a comparison of the two products you asked about accroding to symantec..

    Norton IS:

    Norton AV 2004:

I have never used either so I can not tell you more... sorry. I would try the AV's suggested above. I like AVG 6, but need more control so I purchased version 7.
