norton ghost

i just norton ghosted a entire harddrive to a slave drive, then replaced the master drive with the slave (making to slave drive with the copied the master drive)

the computer runs fine but it will not let me change the appearance of xp go into user account in the control panel

is there anyway i can fix this??

 

So, the problem is that you don't like the user accounts interface? Or the welcome screen?

I was following you up to here, but after that, you've lost me...

 

ok the appearance changed when i changed the hard drives, and when i click to change user types in the control panel it looks a bit like 98s start bar with xps windows

 

So, does it look like the attached screenshot?

 

no, its all xp, but the start bar looks more like the 98 (windows classic theme) and wont let me change it

 

Okay, lets try this:

1. Hit Windows key + break (or right-click 'My Computer' and select 'Properties')
2. On the 'System Properties' dialog, select the 'Advanced' tab
3. Under 'Performance', press the 'Settings' button.

This brings up the 'Performance Options' window. Here, you can select the radio that best meets your desired visual appearance of Windows. The radio button next to 'Adjust For Best Appearance' should make the windows GUI look like the XP default for you.
