    hi all,
i have norton ghost v9, 20gb hdd with my os (w2k) on and a 200gb hdd which i have partitioned into 4 (f,g,h and i) for storage, i make a back-up every sunday which i put on to 'h',
if i want to copy my whole 'c' drive would it be better to do it in safe mode or normal ?

Even better, make a bootable Ghost disK, either CD or Floppy, and image the drive from that:)

Quite simply, you are not running any Windows processes when you backup from a boot device other than the hard drive. This means the backup will be guaranteed 100% of the stored data.

As a matter of principle if I have a clients data to secure I will always isolate their HDD from the OS.

Still, its a personal choice and I wouldn't get on my high horse about it:)
