I am thinking of backing up my HD to dvd using Ghost, and was wondering if you can eliminate some files. My son and I have guite a few games that I don't feel need to be backed up. Is there a way to do it, or should i just go whole hog?

OK, thanks Superm..... uhh Clark, that's what I thought, and after posting felt a little ashamed of myself for such a lame post. I probably should go to a second HD too, since I've only got 40 gb on this one. Thanks again

I have been thinking about going with Norton's Ghost too. I recently lost a hard drive and after I got back up and running added an identical 80 Gig for backups. Any issues I should be aware of?

2.4G P4 running XP Home, 1 Gig Ram and two 80 Gig HD's. Currently protected by NIS and Webroot.

    Thanks

Jerkyking do you mean you just replace your second harddisk backup where your put your .GHO

If so no problem i can't see.....

If new with norton ghost try to buy norton ghost 2003 i have found it's the best one and it will be cheaper $$$.

I lost my orginal 80G HD 2 weeks ago and it was replaced. A week later I picked up another of the same brand and size (WD), and installed it as a slave. All is good now I'm just looking for Software for Backups.

So 2003 is better than 9.0?

    Thanks

i have try the latest 9.0 but from time to time it give me image restore failed error....and others error when problem install in one machine the ghost can't even start try to fix it with the tech guys it never work i have the return the things...

It never happen with norton ghost 2003 and if you try 9.0 you must install framework 1.1 install in your machine...

So for me norton ghost 2003 is the best but for you maybe if you have no problem with the latest go for it...

    Thanks Clark.

I won an Ebay auction for Ghost 2003 for $1.36 !! The seller was a bit confused on what exactly a "Full Retail" version is so I ended up paying $6.25 shipping for a CD that came in a envelope with a 37 cent stamp on it.

But Ghost worked great and I cloned my "C" drive easily. Now I just have to figure out what to do about his Feedback. :D

well, i've just recently gotten norton ghost 2003 (about 4-5 mos. ago), and i thought i got jipped (kinda). anyway, i had bought an iomega external h/d, and it came with a coupon, that i could send off for a free disk (ghost), from iomega. i think it work's pretty good!! i just found it a little hard trying to keep it under 4.7 gbyte so i could burn it all on 1 disk!! ;) - sos
