Norton Internet security locks on Virus scan

If I scan Norton , Trend Micro or Spydoctor it freezescomputer and the cursor arrow when the last file scanned is C :\ windows\ servicepackfiles\i386\ dialer.exe .My computer works fine other then not scanning virus and if I go to C drive service pack and to i386 to dialer or dhtmled.ocx the whole computer freezes. I am not real computer savy thanks.Also Avgast
virus remover purple bottle did same. I went to drive i386 to try and scan individual folder and it freezes. Thanks for helping .I have XP
I did hijack file in malware forum .They said to ask yall did not think malware was problem.
All Norton,Avgast,Spydoctor,TrendMIcro, Bitdefender, Microsoft beta locked
at that point.
