I have a fully paid for Norton Internet Security 2009 running on my machine and have downloaded the free PC Tools Threatfire as just a malware back up---do the two conflict---or may I run them both with no problem?---thanks in advance

you should have only 1 real time AV program on your computer. if you want another scanner that isnt real time av protection, id go with malware bytes.

You should be ok then if threatfire isnt something that is always running like norton.

edit: man youre stacked on the av programs... you could have gotten by with just the freeware SAS and MWB. Probably 2 of the best free AV programs out there.

Thanks, "King Steve"---I bought Norton Internet Security because I have used AVG, Anti-Vir, Avira---and found it is just a tich better protection than those---and has some features I like---and I got 3 subscriptions for the price of one---so I could protect my daughter in So. Cal and roomie, and myself all under one subscription---I am extremely careful where I surf---and have had only 7 pieces of malware, trojans, or viruses in the last 8 years---but they are a tich more careless and want them protected as I am the one who fixes their machines---by the way---Major Geeks is my home page and I STUDY it every day----I have grown fom someone who knew absolutely nothing about computers to one who can now help my friends fix their computers---ALL FROM THE AWESOME ADVICE AND HELP FROM THIS MAGNIFICENT WEBSITE---all in the last 8 years and because of the help from folks like you---I thank you so very much!
