Norton Internet Security.

Is it possible to remove this without interfering with my Norton subscription? I ask because it says that my firewall is being managed by Norton Internet Security and I can do nothing with my firewall, I can't turn it on/off, can't allow programs through.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you cannot do that. The firewall in Norton Internet Security is part of the program and will be removed when you uninstall Norton Internet Security. But, this is not something to be concerned about. Windows Firewall should automatically be enabled when you remove Norton Internet Security. Still, you should verify this and, if it did not happen, then you can manually enable Windows Firewall. I suggest you disconnect from the Internet until you've confirmed that Windows Firewall is active.

Edit: Actually, you could disable the Norton Firewall and enable Windows Firewall before removing Norton Internet Security.

Reading back through my post I failed to clarify that I meant my antivirus protection when I referred to my Norton Subscription.
Form your reply I assume that my antivirus and this internet security are two different objects and they can be separated without harming one another?

 

No, Norton Internet Security includes virus protection. So, when you remove Norton Internet Security, you'll be without virus protection until you install another anti-virus program.
