Norton junk

Started up a new build (AMD Kaveri 7850k processor and a Gigabyte Sniper A88X mobo). After XP SP3 was loaded I loaded the Motherboard drivers and before I could stop it Norton AV loaded. I removed the program with Revo Uninstaller, but I still get a popup and an icon in the task bar from Norton that I cannot find.

Any ideas on how to remove this junk would be appreciated.

I have to ask, curiosity gets the better of me. How did Norton start up unless you'd installed it? Had you? The impression I get from reading what you wrote is that you installed Windows, started installing drivers and lo and behold! Norton appears from nowhere and charges in to (fail) to save the day! But that can't be the real story - lol!

 

The Norton uninstall tool removed all the junk from Norton.

When I inserted the mobo disk, Google and Norton started to load without any prompting on my part. So I removed the disk and tried again. Same result, so I let them load and removed them later.

I will not use anything from Norton or Google unless it is absolutely necessary, such as on an android tablet or phone.
