NPF (with all updates installed) won't let me connect to the internet when enabled. I went through Symantecs online support, but that didn't help. I have pretty much messed with everything, but it still won't work. The default ports are open. It won't even let me log into our content filter/DHCP box locally. However, I can ping our box as well as yahoo.com/.

    I need ideas!

If you want, I can attach a log.

Uninstall it :) Is there a place to set to default settings? If not, perhaps it has modified some of your default connection settings. Check your network settings to be sure it has not modified them.

Otherwise, dont know. Were a bit annoyed with Nortons because it blocks http_referrer, which, in effect is how we hide the file paths so people dont leech our files and cost us money. Other companies, like Zone Alarm, have listened to our complaint that this is unneccesary and removed it by default.

Anyone using Nortons who cant download, please refer to this:

Thanks MA. I have already uninstalled/reinstalled it, to no avail. The wacky thing is that it worked the first day I had it installed. Then, bam! Quit working. Nothing changed. I'm so frustrated with it. I may be blind, but I didn't see a restore button to restore it back to the way it came. I checked the log to see if there was anything being blocked, but it wasn't very helpful. I ran ipconfig and my network settings are the same.

check your hosts file. make sure it's not filled with crap.

I am very wary of norton's firewall. I've heard more bad than good.
