I'm thinking this is not a good thing to be getting when my system starts up?
Ok, everything was hunky dory until this morning, I have 2 laptops, a sony viao which is been working fine for ages, and a packard bell with a brand new installation of windows on it. There are a few drivers missing so I thought i'd network the two together to see if they were on my viao. Once networked I shared the C:/ drive in order to be able to see the windows directory on the PB. This obviously didnt do much, so I copied the whole c:/windows/system32/drivers directory to my desktop and shared that on the network, then copied it accross to the PB. I didnt get anywhere with the drivers, but now, I get this Norton message saying it cant access the C: drive? I have checked the folders and everything seems to be in order, no files seem to be missing.

I have used safe mode and can access C:/ no probs, I can access it using the command promt, and I can even access all the files and programs, I just cant browse the directory using explorer or my computer.? Any ideas?

Oh, I tried to use the system info tool to see if I could see anything wrong, but it ways that there are management files either missing or moved that are needed to run the software.

I have also tried booting off the windows xp cd to run the recovery console, but it didnt do anything, just turned the machine off... wierd?

Anyone got any ideas what I've done? and how I can fix it? Would it help if I copied the windows directory accross to the viao and just replaced the files?

    Thanks for any help,

    Wacky

oh, The Viao is running xp (home i think) with service pack 2, the PB is running Xp home.

    wackywelshman,

Try this first, start > my computer > tools menu > folder options
view tab > "restore defaults". Restart and see if you get the message.

If that does not work, disable the Norton Protected Recycle Bin and see if that stops the error.
