Norton Save & Restore File recovery

Hi,
I thought I would try here for some advice on this software since Norton support isnt.
The problem I have (other than using a Norton Product) is that 2 weeks ago I created an image backup of my drive, last week I created a back up of my folders, this week I had to restore the image of my drive and now Save & Restore does not recognize that I have a folder backup that I need.
I have tried file/import but no luck, I can browse to the location but the program does nothing.
Symantec told me to run live update when that didn't work I was told that "We are sorry but for you nothing can be done from us." ?????
I would really appreciate some help to resolve this if possible, or suggestions for a reliable alternative.

I should have read the manual with more care as it states that my backup data must be at least as current as the changes made to the file.
There are many posts here offering suggestions for backup programs and I will look there. I will consider this thread closed.
