Hi geeks, I want to install Norton Systemworks 2003 on my P4 1.3--512 rd ram Intel 850 Dell 8100 system. Just curious as to which options might be unnecessary resource hogs. I do not want to bog down so much but my main objective is Antivirus and diagnostics and manual disaster recovery. Here are some options in which I would appreciate a comment

    Explorer Shell Extensions

    Unerrase Wizard

    Norton WInDoctor

    WipeInfo

    Speed Disk

    System Information

    --Process Viewer

    Thank you very much:)

    WipeInfo
    System Information
    Process Viewer
    Unerrase Wizard

    Ditch these.

Many Thanks Thunder. I dont need what I dont need. I did not know how much resource hogs these are. With your advise I am sure I can live without them.

I would also disable the Norton Speeddisk service. You want Speeddisk installed, but I've yet to see an explanation for what the background service is supposed to do, let alone what it actually does. All it does it eat memory. Open Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services, and change the Speeddisk service from Automatic to Disabled.
