Norton Trial ending ..what now for free?

The Norton free trial that came with Presario CQ 57 Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium...what is the best free protection for me now?

I would suggest Avast Anti-virus.

Make sure you run the Norton Removal tool before installing Avast.

I haven't tried Panda Cloud Antivirus but I've had good luck with the other three. Been using Avast on this machine for quite some time now. The free version of Avast does require that you re-register it once a year. It's painless though, only takes a few seconds.

As Puppywunder58 said, after you uninstall Norton and before you install another anti-virus, to be certain Norton is properly removed , it would be a good idea to use the |MG| Norton Removal Tool.

 

I use Microsoft security essentials and find it is not intrusive while at the same time offering good protection and it is free.

I have used Avast for 2-3 years now. When I redid my desktop I decided to try MSE, no complaints yet.
