    Sugee,

    Sugee,

You might be having a problem because Symantec has rolled out an entire new web site is a little difficult to navigate and find information like the previous one.

Previously I only used NAV thinking anti-virus protection was enough but not anymore, especially if you spend much time on the internet. Once I even purchased Systemworks which is a real resource pig that I don't recommend unless you have a machine with the processor and RAM to run it plus your other programs.

Currently I'm using Norton Internet Security 2005 (NIS2005) because it consists of 3 parts, Norton Anti-Virus (NAV) for virus protection, plus Anti-Spam and Internet Security which is the software firewall. All 3 parts are upgraded via Live Update just like we're used to. When my NIS2005 virus definition subscription runs out, I'll upgrade to NIS2006, which is already available for download, don't know about retail. Are you aware that the price of a year of virus definitions equals the price of the latest software update if purchased on sale and especially with an upgrade rebate? Just thought I'd make you aware of that before you spend money updating your virus definition subscription.

With that long winded introduction to Symantec products, and not having seen any of the 2006 products, hopefully they work the same as previous versions of their software.

I just opened NIS2005, clicked on Help & Support (upper right corner), clicked on Symantec Security Response and that took me to the web page with the virus definition information I believe you're looking for. Here's the URL:

    http://securityresponse.symantec.com/

You can also navigate to the same page from the Symantec United States web site under Home & Office then Viruses & Risks. Then on the left side under Virus Definitions, click on Detections Added List. That shows the chronological order that virus definitions were added. You can also research any particular virus definition by clicking on it from that page.

Here's the URL to the virus definition page:

    http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/home_homeoffice/index.html

It might not be the exact answer you're looking for, but I hope that I've given you a starting point and have at least been of some assistance.

if you go here to this site on MajotGeeks tell you how many definitions you should have. It's a great way to tell without having to go to the site or click live update to make sure everything is update.
I am using Norton Antivirus 2006 now and my husgand is using 2005

I dont think it does, as it will only show what date your virus definitions are. But if you want too know the definitions included in the update just visit this link:
