   If I delete .jpg files and empty my recycle bin, but but not my "Nortons Protected Files" can I retreve those files, and would it be an easy task if it could be done?

   That depends, Norton puts those files it deems important into the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. If Norton doesn't consider a jpg to be important then it won't be in the Protected Recycle Bin.
