Norton's runtime app protection died?!

Symantec AV Corporate and Ghost 12 installed on my Vista system. As I've gotten used to, Sym's apps run under a nameless account and prevent being killed by the Task Manager with an "access denied" message. Today I looked in the task manager and all of Norton's proggys were running under my user account?! WTF. I tried to kill them. It worked?! Yipe!

Did they start up like that or did something sneaky pass them onto my user account? Is it possible for an app to change the account it's running on WHILE it's running?

To all UAC haters - NO, I do not have UAC turned on.
