Hi everyone, recently a Kaspersky AV false positive detected regedit.exe as a trojan and decided to quarantine it. I was able to recover it from quarantine and restore it, but since then I cannot merge ".reg" files with my registry. I get the message that *.reg (where * is the current file im trying to merge) is not a valid win32 application. Is there any way I can fix this? Or restore the original regedit.exe files as opposed to those recovered from quarantine?

    Cheers, Matt

I know for sure that it is not a malware issue, as my system is clean and the FP was confirmed by Kaspersky via e-mail.

However, I did solve the issue by setting .reg files to open with regedit again. I think that Kaspersky's thorough cleaning may have messed up the file association. All is happy now :)

    Cheers for the help
